Holiday Fun For The Family In Lubbock Texas

It’s that time again. Your children are out of school and the whole family is making plans to visit Lubbock for the holidays. Lucky for you, there are many things to do this holiday season in Lubbock, Texas that the whole family can enjoy and take part in. These are just a few.

 

SANTA LAND

Santa Land is one of Lubbock’s longest traditions. It has been around for over 60 years and is located at Mackenzie Park. The admission is free for all ages. Santa Land is open December 10th through December 23rd from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm every night. There is live entertainment, Mr. & Mrs. Claus, Christmas trees galore, hot chocolate and much more. You are welcome to bring your own camera or purchase a keep sake. This is an event the whole family would enjoy.

 

SANTA PAWS 

Santa Paws has got to be the cutest event going on in Lubbock . This event is thrown by Hodges Community Center, located on 41st and University, and will be held on Saturday December 2nd from 9:00 am until 1:00 pm. Bring the family and bring your fur babies! This is chance for your fur baby to take their picture with Santa. Photos are $5.00 which also come with a holiday card or you can bring your own camera. Local pet places will be around handing out all kinds of doggy goodies. The Animal Shelter of Lubbock will also be providing micro chips for a charge. Make sure to bring proof of Rabies vaccination.

 

ELF MOVIE PARTY

Alamo Drafthouse offers the Elf Movie Party many times during the month of December. There’s so much more than just watching the movie with Alamo Drafthouse. They will have games, props, a “snowball” fight in the theater, and of course lots of sing-a-longs. They will also have bells and bubbles for scenes in the movie, along with a scratch and sniff card to smell all the smells right along with the characters.  What a fun way to get your entire family involved.

BALLET LUBBOCK’S THE NUTCRACKER

It just isn’t the holidays without the Nutcracker. Ballet Lubbock will be performing their annual production of Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker on December 14th through December 17th at the Lubbock Civic Center. Tickets can be purchased by Select-A-Seat. This timeless story of the girl who dreams her nutcracker to life will have your entire family delighted.
